Srimad Bhagavatam 9.19.14 meaning
na jatu kamah kamanam upabhogena shanyati
havisha krishnavartm-eva bhooya ev-abhivardhate
Desire is never satisfied by enjoying what it desires. Like fire fed with ghee, it only blazes up more.
What it means
King Yayati learned this after a lifetime of indulgence. Feeding a craving rarely ends it; it usually grows. Real satisfaction comes from understanding desire, not endlessly feeding it.
Spoken by Yayati.
