Srimad Bhagavatam 4.20.31 meaning
tvanmayay-addha jana eesha khandito yad anyad ashasta ritatmanobudhah
yatha chared balahitam pita svayam tatha tvam ev-arhasi nah sameehitum
त्वन्माययाद्धा जन ईश खण्डितो यदन्यदाशास्त ऋतात्मनोऽबुधः।
यथा चरेद्बालहितं पिता स्वयं तथा त्वमेवार्हसि नः समीहितुम्॥
Lord, people are surely confused by your illusion, which is why the foolish ask for things other than you. Just as a father does what is best for his child on his own, so you should do what is best for us.
What it means
Prithu stops listing wishes and trusts God like a child trusts a loving parent. Sometimes the wisest prayer is simply: you know better than I do what I need.हिंदी में अर्थ
हे ईश्वर, लोग निश्चय ही आपकी माया से भ्रमित हैं, इसलिए अज्ञानी आपसे अलग कुछ और माँगते हैं। जैसे पिता स्वयं बच्चे का हित करता है, वैसे ही आप हमारे लिए जो अच्छा हो, वही कीजिए।
पृथु इच्छाएँ गिनाना बंद करके भगवान पर वैसे भरोसा करते हैं जैसे बच्चा प्यारे पिता पर। कभी-कभी सबसे समझदार प्रार्थना यही है: आप जानते हैं मुझे क्या चाहिए।
