bhoomir aponalo vayuh kham mano buddhir eva cha
ahankara iteeyam me bhinna prakritir ashtadha
Earth, water, fire, air, space, mind, intellect and the sense of 'I': these are the eight parts into which my material nature is divided.
What it means
Everything around you and even your thoughts and ego are made of the same basic stuff of nature. Seeing this helps you hold your moods and identity a little more lightly. How it helps in real life
- When you are angry: Taking your bad mood as who you are? Remind yourself moods are just nature passing through, and go for a ten-minute walk.
- When you succeed: Getting puffed up with a new title? Remember even ego is just one part of nature; stay humble and keep serving the team.
