Bhagavad Gita 3.9 meaning
yajnarthat karmanonyatra lokoyam karmabandhanah
tadartham karma kaunteya muktasangah samachara
Work done as an offering does not bind you; all other work ties a person to this world. So, son of Kunti, act for that higher purpose, free from attachment.
What it means
Work done only for yourself can feel heavy and draining. Work done as an offering—to something bigger than you—feels lighter. Change the purpose behind your effort and the effort itself changes. How it helps in real life
- At work: Dreading your nursing shift today? Dedicate it to the patients' families waiting outside, and notice the work feel lighter.
- With family: Cooking for the whole joint family feels like a burden? Offer the meal mentally to God before starting and cook it with love.
Spoken by Krishna.
