Bhagavad Gita · Sraddhatraya Vibhaga Yoga
Bhagavad Gita 17.27 meaning
yajne tapasi dane cha sthitih sad iti ch-ochyate
karma ch-aiva tadartheeyam sad ity-ev-abhidheeyate
Steadfastness in sacrifice, austerity and charity is also called 'Sat', and any action done for the sake of the Supreme is likewise called 'Sat'.
What it means
Staying steady in giving, discipline and service is itself something true and good. Any work done with a higher purpose, not just for ourselves, carries that same quality. How it helps in real life
- Helping others: You started a monthly donation to a girls' school last year. Keep it going even in a tight month; steadiness is what makes it true.
- At work: Your NGO side project gets no recognition. Keep giving it two hours every Sunday; work done for a higher purpose holds its own value.
Spoken by Krishna.
