They say the world is unreal, without any foundation and without God; that it arises only from the union of male and female, with desire as its only cause. What else could there be?
What it means
Krishna describes a worldview where nothing has deeper meaning and life is only about wanting things. When people believe that, there is no reason left to be kind or honest beyond what pleases them. How it helps in real life
- Big decisions: A colleague says nothing matters, so fudge the expense claims. Remember meaning makes honesty worth it, and file yours correctly.
- When you feel alone: Late at night, life feels pointless and empty. Write down three people you've helped this year; your life has more meaning than it feels.
Spoken by Krishna.
