Bhagavad Gita 14.9 meaning
sattvam sukhe sanjayati rajah karmani bharata
jnanam avritya tu tamah pramade sanjayaty-uta
Goodness ties you to happiness, passion ties you to action, Arjuna, while dullness, covering up understanding, ties you to carelessness.
What it means
Each quality has its own hook: comfort, busyness, or numbness. Look at your day and ask which hook is pulling you right now. Simply noticing it gives you a choice. How it helps in real life
- Big decisions: Before saying yes to another weekend side project, ask: is this comfort, restlessness or numbness pulling me? Then decide.
- When you feel alone: Bingeing a whole season alone every night since the breakup? Notice the numbness, pause the show, and text one friend for a walk.
Spoken by Krishna.
