Ashtavakra Gita 17.3 meaning

na jatu vishayah kepi svaramam harshayanty-amee sallakeepallavapreetam ivebham nimbapallavah

No sense pleasures can ever thrill one who delights in the Self, just as bitter neem leaves cannot please an elephant that loves sweet sallaki leaves.

What it means
Once you taste real inner contentment, cheap thrills lose their appeal. It's not willpower; it's that you've found something better that naturally replaces the craving.

Spoken by Ashtavakra.
